Before You Begin
You may need permission to create projects. If you don’t see Projects and Sites or Create New Project, contact your company administrator or TruckIT Support.
Have this ready before you start: the project name, a project number (if your company uses one), any project notes, and — for DOT projects — the DOT project number and inspector details.
Creating a New Project
1. Open Projects and Sites. Log in to the TruckIT Web Portal and go to Projects and Sites to review your current project list.
2. Start a new project. Click Create New Project.
3. Name it. Enter a project name your team will recognize — follow your company’s standard naming format if it has one.
4. Add details. Enter a project number if your company uses one, and add any project-level notes.
5. Save. Click Save — the project now appears in your project list.
What Happens Next
With the project saved, you’re ready to add pickup and drop-off sites, add payloads, dispatch jobs, and assign trucks and haulers. Creating the project first gives your team a central place to manage all related work and review job and ticket activity.
Adding Project Notes
Use project notes for information that applies to the entire project — site access instructions, safety requirements, material handling instructions, customer or project-specific requirements, important contact details, or jobsite reminders.
Haulers can see project notes in the mobile app. Only include information that’s appropriate for field users to see.
Marking a DOT Project
1. Check the box. In the project creation window, check DOT Project.
2. Add the details. Enter the DOT project number and add the inspector who needs access.
3. Review and save. Review the project details and click Save — this keeps DOT project information connected to the project from the start.
