Before You Begin
You’ll need to be logged into the TruckIT Web Portal with permission to create or manage projects. If you don’t see Projects and Sites or Create New Project, contact your company administrator or TruckIT Support.
Before you start, have a few things ready: the project name (following your company’s naming standards) and the project number.
Creating a New Project
1. Open Projects and Sites. From the TruckIT Web Portal, navigate to Projects and Sites and click Create New Project.
2. Name the project. Click the Project Name field and enter a name that follows your company’s naming standards, then enter the project number.
3. Save. Review the project details and click Save. The project is now ready for sites and payloads.
Naming Best Practices
A good project name is clear, specific, consistent, and easy to search — your whole team should be able to recognize it at a glance, months from now, without opening it.
Tip: use “Main Street Resurfacing – Phase 1” instead of just “Main Street.” The extra detail makes it far easier to find later, especially once your project list grows.
What Happens Next
With the project saved, you’re ready to add pickup and drop-off sites, add payloads, and start dispatching jobs. From there you can assign trucks, monitor activity in real time, and review tickets as they come in — all organized under this project.
