Run an Hourly Job in the TruckIT Mobile App

Learn how drivers start an hourly job, complete pickups and drop-offs, track work time, enter ticket details, and submit timesheet information.

Use this article to run an hourly job in the TruckIT mobile app.

An hourly job tracks your work time from the moment you tap Start Job until you tap Stop Job. During the job, the app will guide you through pickup and drop-off steps, ticket information if required, and timesheet details at the end of the day.

Before you begin

Make sure you have:

  • Downloaded the TruckIT mobile app
  • Logged in with your TruckIT username and password
  • Been assigned to an hourly job for the day
  • Confirmed you are linked to the correct truck
  • Reviewed the pickup and drop-off locations
  • Location services enabled, if required by your company
  • Any paper ticket or timesheet information ready, if required

If you do not see your job in My Jobs, contact your dispatcher.

Open your hourly job

  1. Open the TruckIT mobile app.
  2. Tap My Jobs.
  3. Find the job you are running today.
  4. Tap View Job.

From My Jobs, you can also review future and past jobs. If your dispatcher has not assigned you to a job for the day, the app will show No Jobs.

Start the job

  1. Review the job details.
  2. Tap Start Job.

Tapping Start Job starts the time tracking for the hourly work you complete.

After starting the job, follow the directions in the app to the pickup location.

Complete pickup

After you arrive at the pickup location and get loaded with material:

  1. Tap Pickup Complete.
  2. Enter ticket information if the app asks for it.
  3. Review the ticket information.
  4. Tap Submit.

Depending on your company’s settings, you may be asked to enter details such as the ticket number and weight before continuing to the drop-off site.

Complete drop-off

After pickup is complete, follow the directions to the drop-off site.

Once you arrive and dump the load:

  1. Tap Drop-Off Complete.
  2. Follow the next prompt in the app.

After you complete the drop-off, the app will send you back to the pickup site so you can continue the job cycle.

Repeat the job cycle

Continue this pattern until the work is done for the day:

  1. Go to the pickup location.
  2. Get loaded.
  3. Tap Pickup Complete.
  4. Enter ticket details if required.
  5. Go to the drop-off location.
  6. Dump the material.
  7. Tap Drop-Off Complete.
  8. Return to pickup for the next load.

Repeat the cycle until your dispatcher tells you the job is complete or you are finished working the job for the day.

Stop the job

When you are finished working the hourly job:

  1. Tap Stop Job.
  2. Enter the ticket number for your timesheet if prompted.
  3. Enter the amount of time you worked that day.
  4. Review the timesheet information.
  5. Submit the information.

The current article notes that when you stop the job, the app asks for a ticket number for your timesheet and the amount of time worked.

Upload a paper timesheet photo if required

If your company uses a paper timesheet, the app may prompt you to take a photo.

  1. Take a clear photo of the paper timesheet.
  2. Make sure the full timesheet is visible.
  3. Submit the photo.

After the timesheet photo is submitted, the job will be closed.

Best practices for drivers

Use the app throughout the day so your time, tickets, and job activity stay accurate.

Recommended best practices:

  • Tap Start Job only when you are ready to begin work.
  • Review pickup and drop-off details before driving.
  • Tap Pickup Complete only after loading.
  • Enter ticket details carefully if prompted.
  • Tap Drop-Off Complete only after dumping the load.
  • Continue the pickup/drop-off cycle until the job is done.
  • Tap Stop Job only when you are finished for the day.
  • Enter timesheet hours accurately.
  • Take a clear timesheet photo if required.
  • Contact dispatch if the job, ticket, or timesheet information looks wrong.

Tips for timesheet photos

If you are prompted to upload a paper timesheet, make sure the photo is easy to read.

A good timesheet photo should show:

  • The full timesheet
  • Driver name, if shown
  • Date
  • Hours worked
  • Ticket number, if shown
  • Signature, if required
  • Clear text without blur, glare, or shadows

Retake the photo before submitting if anything is cut off or hard to read.
