Use this article to add a truck to your fleet from the TruckIT mobile app.

Adding trucks to your fleet helps your team manage available equipment, assign trucks to jobs, and keep fleet records up to date while working from the field.

Before you begin

Make sure you have:

  • Logged in to the TruckIT mobile app
  • Permission to manage fleet records
  • The truck information you need to enter
  • The correct truck type, if required by your company
  • Any company-specific truck naming or numbering format

If you do not see Fleet or the plus icon, contact your company administrator or TruckIT Support.

Add a truck

1. Open the TruckIT mobile app.
 
2. Tap your profile.

 

3.  Tap Fleet

 

4.  Tap the plus icon to add a truck. 

 

5. Enter the truck information.

6. Review the information for accuracy.

7. Tap Submit.

After the truck is added, it will appear in your Fleet list. 

What information should I enter?

The exact fields may depend on your company setup, but truck details may include:
  • Truck name or truck number
  • Truck type
  • Capacity
  • Region, if your company uses regions
  • Driver assignment, if applicable
  • Other company-required details

Use a clear truck name or number that dispatchers, admins, and field teams will recognize.

Confirm the truck was added

After tapping Submit, return to your Fleet list and confirm the truck appears.

Check that the truck details look correct before the truck is used for dispatching or driver assignment.

Keep fleet records clean and consistent so dispatchers and admins can find the right truck quickly.

  • Search the fleet first to avoid duplicates.
  • Use the official truck name or truck number.
  • Select the correct truck type.
  • Follow your company’s naming format.
  • Confirm the truck appears in Fleet after submitting.
  • Update or archive trucks that are no longer active.
  • Add or link the correct driver if your workflow requires it.

Troubleshooting

I do not see Fleet

Your account may not have permission to manage trucks from the mobile app. Contact your company administrator or TruckIT Support.

I do not see the plus icon

You may not have permission to add trucks. Contact your company administrator.

The truck did not save

Confirm all required fields are complete, then tap Submit again. If the issue continues, contact TruckIT Support.

I added the wrong truck information

Open the truck record and edit it if your permissions allow. If you cannot edit it, contact your company administrator.

I added a duplicate truck

Review both truck records before making changes. Keep the correct record and archive or remove the duplicate if your permissions allow.
