Naming Best Practices
• Keep names short, specific, and easy to search
• Use the exact same name every time it’s entered
• Keep naming consistent across regions and projects
• Search the existing payload list before adding a new one
• Review payload names periodically, and remove outdated ones if your permissions allow
• Align names with how your team already refers to materials in reporting, billing, and reconciliation

Tip: avoid creating multiple variations of the same material — "#57 Stone," "57 stone," and "No. 57 Stone" should all be one standardized name. Duplicates make reporting and reconciliation harder down the line.
When to Create One
Create a custom payload for:
• Project-specific materials
• Company-specific named materials
• Specialty aggregates or mixes
• Custom hauling items
• Frequently dispatched materials not already in the standard list

What Happens Next
Once saved, the custom payload becomes available for your team to select when adding payloads to projects. Setting up a full project payload also includes choosing a truck type, pickup/drop-off sites, unit of measure, and any optional fields.
