Linking a driver to a truck helps your team keep fleet assignments accurate, manage job activity, and make sure the right driver is associated with the right truck.
Before you begin
Make sure you are logged in to the TruckIT Web Portal.
You may need permission to manage fleet settings. If you do not see My Company or My Fleet, contact your company administrator or TruckIT Support.
Before linking a driver, confirm that:
- The truck has already been added to My Fleet
- The driver has already been added as a team member
- The driver’s user profile is active
- You are linking the correct driver to the correct truck
Link a driver to a truck
Use this workflow when you want to assign a driver to a truck.
- Log in to the TruckIT Web Portal.
2. Go to My Company.
3. Select My Fleet.
5. Click the three-dot menu under Other Actions.
6. Select Link Driver.
7. Click Select User To Link.
8. Choose the driver from the dropdown list.
9. Click Save.
Unlink a driver from a truck
Use this workflow when a driver should no longer be assigned to a truck.
1. Go to My Company.2. Select My Fleet.
3. Find the truck currently linked to the driver.
4. Click the three-dot menu under Other Actions.
5. Select Unlink Driver.
11. Click Yes to confirm.
When to unlink a driver
Unlink a driver when the truck assignment is no longer accurate.

- The driver is moving to a different truck
- The truck is temporarily out of service
- The driver is no longer active

Troubleshooting
I do not see the Link Driver option
Your user role may not have permission to manage fleet assignments. Contact your company administrator or TruckIT Support.
The driver is not listed in the dropdown
Confirm that the driver has been added as a team member and that the user profile is active. If the driver still does not appear, contact TruckIT Support.
I linked the wrong driver
Go back to My Company > My Fleet, open the three-dot menu for the truck, and use Unlink Driver. Then link the correct driver.
I cannot unlink a driver
Confirm that you selected the correct truck and that your account has permission to manage fleet records.
The assignment looks wrong after saving
Refresh the page and review the truck record again. If the assignment is still incorrect, contact TruckIT Support.
