Download Projects from the TruckIT Portal
Learn how to export your project list from Projects and Sites, including active, closed, or archived projects.
Use this article to download a list of projects from the TruckIT Web Portal.
The project download helps your team export project information for offline review, reporting, cleanup, internal tracking, or account management.
You can also filter your project list before downloading so the export only includes the projects you want.
Before you begin
Make sure you are logged in to the TruckIT Web Portal.
You may need permission to view or download projects. If you do not see Projects and Sites or the download icon, contact your company administrator or TruckIT Support.
Before downloading projects, decide whether you want to export:
- Active projects
- Closed projects
- Archived projects
- All visible projects
The download will only include the projects shown by your current filter.
Download projects
1. Log in to the TruckIT Web Portal.
TruckIT will download the project list based on the projects currently shown in your filtered view.
Filter projects before downloading
Before clicking the download icon, you can filter your project search by project status.
Available filters may include:
- Active
- Closed
- Archived
Use filters when you only want to download a specific group of projects.
For example, select Archived before downloading if you only want a list of archived projects.
Important note about filtered downloads
The download only includes the projects shown by the current filter.
For example:
| If your filter is set to... | Your download includes... |
|---|---|
| Active | Active projects only |
| Closed | Closed projects only |
| Archived | Archived projects only |
| No specific filter | The projects visible in the current project list |
Before downloading, always confirm the filter is set correctly.
When to download projects
Download projects when your team needs to review or share project data outside the TruckIT Portal.
Common reasons include:
- Reviewing active project lists
- Auditing closed projects
- Cleaning up archived projects
- Sharing project information with internal teams
- Preparing operational reports
- Reviewing project setup across markets or regions
- Checking project records before dispatching or billing cleanup
Best practices for project downloads
Use project filters before downloading so the export matches your goal.
Recommended best practices:
- Confirm the project status filter before exporting.
- Download active, closed, and archived projects separately if you need clean lists.
- Use consistent file naming after download.
- Add the date to the downloaded file name for easier tracking.
- Review archived projects periodically.
- Keep project exports secure if they include customer, job, or internal project information.
- Do not rely on an old export if project data may have changed.
