Use the Dashboard in the TruckIT Portal (video)
Learn how to monitor daily jobs, tickets, trucks, live map activity, and notifications from the TruckIT Dashboard.
Use this article to understand and navigate the Dashboard in the TruckIT Web Portal.
The Dashboard is the first page you see when you log in to TruckIT. It gives you a daily overview of your active jobs, pending jobs, tickets, trucks, live map activity, and notifications.
Think of the Dashboard as your daily operations snapshot. It helps you quickly see what is happening across your jobs, trucks, and ticket activity.
Before you begin
Make sure you are logged in to the TruckIT Web Portal.
You may need permission to view jobs, trucks, tickets, and notification activity. If you do not see the Dashboard information described in this article, contact your company administrator or TruckIT Support.
Open the Dashboard
- Log in to the TruckIT Web Portal.
- The Dashboard will open as your default page.
If you navigate away from the Dashboard, use the main navigation to return to it.
Review the daily summary
At the top of the Dashboard, you can see a high-level summary of the current day.
This section may include:
- Current date
- Local weather
- Active jobs
- Pending jobs
- Tickets created for the day
- Open tickets
- Closed tickets
- Ticket types
- Time, tonnage, and load totals
Use this section to quickly understand how the day is progressing.
Monitor jobs from the Dashboard
The Dashboard helps you keep track of jobs that are active or pending for the current day.
Use the job summary to answer questions like:
- How many jobs are running today?
- How many jobs are still pending?
- How much ticket activity has been created?
- Are ticket counts increasing as expected?
- Do any jobs need attention?
If a job needs a closer review, open the job record from the relevant section of the portal.
Use the live map
The live map shows trucks currently running on your jobs.
Truck status is color-coded so you can quickly understand where trucks are headed or whether they have started work.
| Truck color | What it means |
|---|---|
| Green | Truck is heading to a pickup site |
| Red | Truck is heading to a drop-off site |
| Orange | Truck is offline or has not started a job yet |
Use the live map to monitor truck movement, review job coverage, and identify trucks that may need attention.
View truck details on the map
Hover over a truck on the live map to view more details.
You may be able to see:
- Truck number
- Driver name
- Driver phone number
- Job number
This can help dispatchers and operations users quickly identify which truck they are looking at and who to contact if needed.
Use the notification feed
The notification feed appears to the right of the live map.
This feed helps you track important activity throughout the day, including:
- Jobs created
- Trucks entering alert zones
- Trucks exiting alert zones
- Tickets opened
- Tickets closed
- Message activity
Use the notification feed to monitor real-time operational updates without leaving the Dashboard.
Filter notifications
You can filter the notification feed to focus on the activity you need to review.
Common notification filters include:
- Truck events
- Ticket events
- Job events
- Message events
Filtering notifications is useful when the feed has a lot of activity and you only want to review one type of update.
Search for trucks or jobs
Use the search bar to find a specific truck or job.
Search is helpful when you need to quickly locate:
- A truck number
- A driver’s truck
- A job number
- A specific job running today
After finding the truck or job, review the related details on the Dashboard.
Review the truck list
Below the live map, the Dashboard shows a list of trucks running on your jobs for the day.
This list may include:
- Truck name
- Current job
- Where the truck is headed
- Estimated time of arrival, or ETA
Use this list to compare truck activity without searching the map manually.
Center the map on a truck
Click a truck in the truck list to center the live map on that truck’s location.
When you select a truck, the right-side column may also update to show the jobs for that selected truck.
This is useful when you want to quickly review where a specific truck is, what job it is working on, and what it is scheduled to do next.

Troubleshooting
I do not see the Dashboard
The Dashboard should appear when you log in. If it does not, use the main navigation to return to the Dashboard. If you still cannot access it, contact your company administrator or TruckIT Support.
I do not see any trucks on the live map
Confirm that trucks are assigned to active jobs for the selected day. Trucks may also appear offline or not started if they are not currently active.
I see an orange truck on the map
An orange truck means the truck is offline or has not started a job yet.
I cannot find a specific job or truck
Use the search bar. If the job or truck still does not appear, check whether it is active for the current day and whether your account has access to view it.
Ticket totals do not look correct
Review the selected day’s ticket activity and check whether tickets are open, closed, or missing. You may also want to review the ticket report in Reporting and Analytics > Tickets.
The notification feed is too busy
Use notification filters to narrow the feed by truck events, ticket events, job events, or message events.
