Run a Load-Based Job in the TruckIT Mobile App

Learn how drivers start a load-based job, complete pickups and drop-offs, enter ticket details, upload ticket photos, and stop the job at the end of the day.

Use this article to run a load-based job in the TruckIT mobile app.

A load-based job is a job where you pick up material, deliver it to the drop-off location, and repeat that cycle throughout the day. The app will guide you through each step: starting the job, completing pickup, entering ticket information if required, completing drop-off, taking a ticket photo if required, and stopping the job when you are finished.

Before you begin

Make sure you have:

  • Downloaded the TruckIT mobile app
  • Logged in with your TruckIT username and password
  • Accepted or received the job assignment
  • Confirmed you are looking at the correct job for the day
  • Location services enabled, if required by your company
  • A clear way to capture ticket information or ticket photos, if required

If you do not see your job in My Jobs, contact your dispatcher or company administrator.

Open your load-based job

  1. Open the TruckIT mobile app.
  2. Tap My Jobs.
  3. Find the job you are running today.
  4. Tap the job to open the job details.

Review the job details before starting so you know where to pick up, where to drop off, and what material you are hauling.

Start the job

  1. From the job details screen, tap Start Job.
  2. Follow the directions to the pickup location.

Use the job details and directions in the app to make sure you are going to the correct pickup site.

Complete pickup

After your truck is loaded:

  1. Tap Pickup Complete.
  2. If prompted, enter the required ticket information.
  3. Review the ticket details.
  4. Tap Submit.

Depending on your company’s settings, you may need to enter information such as:

  • Weight
  • Ticket number
  • Quantity
  • Other required load details

Go to the drop-off location

After pickup is complete, the app will prompt you to head to the drop-off location.

  1. Follow the directions to the drop-off site.
  2. Arrive at the correct drop-off location.
  3. Dump or deliver the material according to the job instructions.

Complete drop-off

After you have dumped or delivered the material:

  1. Tap Drop-Off Complete.
  2. If prompted, take a photo of the paper ticket.
  3. Submit the ticket photo.

Your company may require a ticket photo, also called a TicPic, before the load is completed.

Repeat the load cycle

After you complete the drop-off, the app may send you back to the pickup location.

Continue the same cycle:

  1. Go to pickup.
  2. Load the truck.
  3. Tap Pickup Complete.
  4. Enter ticket details if required.
  5. Go to drop-off.
  6. Dump the material.
  7. Tap Drop-Off Complete.
  8. Take a ticket photo if required.

Repeat this process until you are finished running the job for the day.

Stop the job at the end of the day

When you are finished with the job:

  1. Tap Stop Job.
  2. Confirm the job is complete, if prompted.
  3. Review any final information required by the app.
  4. Close out the job.

Only tap Stop Job when you are done running loads for that job.

Best practices for drivers

Use the mobile app consistently throughout the job so your tickets, loads, and job activity stay accurate.

Recommended best practices:

  • Review the job details before tapping Start Job.
  • Confirm the pickup and drop-off locations before driving.
  • Tap Pickup Complete only after the truck is loaded.
  • Enter ticket details carefully.
  • Make sure the ticket number is correct.
  • Take a clear ticket photo if required.
  • Tap Drop-Off Complete only after dumping or delivering the material.
  • Do not tap Stop Job until you are finished for the day.
  • Contact dispatch if the job details, site, material, or ticket information looks wrong.

Tips for taking a clear ticket photo

If your company requires a ticket photo, make sure the image is easy to read before submitting it.

A good ticket photo should show:

  • The full ticket
  • Ticket number
  • Weight or quantity
  • Material, if shown
  • Date and time, if shown
  • Clear text without blur, glare, or shadows

If the photo is blurry or cut off, retake it before submitting.
