Create and Use Multiple Regions in the TruckIT Portal
Learn how to create regions, filter your portal view by region, and clear region filters when needed.
Use this article to create regions and use region filters in the TruckIT Web Portal.
Regions help your team organize work by market, branch, service area, or operating group. After regions are created, you can select one or more regions to filter what you see in the portal. This makes it easier to focus on the trucks, users, jobs, and activity that are relevant to a specific area.
Before you begin
Make sure you are logged in to the TruckIT Web Portal.
You may need permission to manage company settings or use region filters. If you do not see Settings, Regions, Add Region, or the Regions icon, contact your company administrator or TruckIT Support.
Before creating a region, confirm:
- The region name
- The region location
- The coordinates, if entering them manually
- Which users or teams should use the region
- Whether your company wants to filter portal activity by one region or multiple regions
Create a new region
1. Log in to the TruckIT Web Portal.

2. Click Settings.

3. Select the Regions tab.

4. Click Add Region.

5. Enter the region coordinates, or select the location on the map.

6. Enter the Region Name.

7. Click Save.

The region is now available in TruckIT.

3. Apply the selection.

TruckIT will filter the portal based on the region selections you choose.

When to use multiple regions
Use multiple regions when your team needs to view or manage activity across more than one operating area.
Common examples include:
- A dispatcher managing two nearby markets
- A regional manager reviewing multiple branches
- An admin checking activity across several service areas
- A team that needs to compare job activity by region
- A company that wants to reduce clutter without limiting the view to only one region
If you only need to focus on one area, select one region. If you need a broader view, select multiple regions.
Best practices for using regions
Keep regions simple and consistent so users understand what each region means.
Recommended best practices:
- Use clear region names, such as market, branch, or service area names.
- Avoid duplicate or overlapping regions unless there is a clear reason.
- Select only the regions you need for the task you are working on.
- Use Clear Regions when you want to return to an unfiltered view.
- Train dispatchers and admins to check their region filters before searching for jobs, trucks, or users.
- Review region names periodically to keep them aligned with your company’s operations.
