Learn how to add a truck, assign truck details, and manage fleet records in the TruckIT Web Portal.
Use this article to add a new truck to your fleet in the TruckIT Web Portal.
Adding trucks to your fleet helps your team assign vehicles to jobs, track truck activity, and manage your fleet from one place.
Before you begin
Make sure you are logged in to the TruckIT Web Portal.
You may need permission to manage company or fleet settings. If you do not see My Company or My Fleet, contact your company administrator or TruckIT Support.
Add a new truck
- From the main menu, go to My Company.
- Select My Fleet.
- Click Create New Truck.
- In the pop-up window, enter the truck details.
- Select the correct truck type. Truck type is important because TruckIT uses this information to help organize your fleet and support more accurate job, dispatch, and reporting data.
- If applicable, select the truck’s region.
- Click Save.
Your new truck will now appear in My Fleet.
What you can see in My Fleet
After trucks are added, the My Fleet page gives you a central place to view and manage your fleet.
From this page, you can see:
- Trucks in your fleet
- Who is assigned to each truck
- What job a truck is currently working on, when applicable
- Truck management options
Edit, archive, or locate a truck
You can manage an existing truck from the My Fleet page.
- Go to My Company.
- Select My Fleet.
- Find the truck you want to manage.
- Click the three-dot menu to the right of the truck name.
- Choose the action you want to take.
Available actions may include:
- Edit the truck details
- Archive the truck
- Find current location for the truck
When to archive a truck
Archive a truck when it should no longer appear as an active fleet option.
For example, you may want to archive a truck if it is:
- No longer part of your fleet
- Temporarily out of service
- Replaced by another truck
- Added by mistake
Archiving helps keep your fleet list clean and easier for dispatchers and admins to manage.

Once you're logged into the portal, you'll click on the My Company section. From here, the first place we'll go is the My Fleet subsection. This is where you can add your trucks.
Once added, you'll be able to see your entire fleet, who is driving each truck, as well as what job they're working on.
To add a new truck, just click the Create New Truck button. In the top left in the popup, what type of truck you are adding as the truck platform intelligently uses that information to give you accurate data.
If applicable, you can also choose a region for this truck. Once you're done, click save and that truck will be added.
Looking back at your fleet, if you click the three little dots to the right of any of the truck names, you will also have the capability of editing, archiving, or finding that truck's current location.
