How to Grant TruckIT Access to a Customer or Contractor. (video)
Learn how to give another company access to one of your trucks from the TruckIT Web Portal.
Use this article to give another company access to one of your trucks in the TruckIT Web Portal.
Granting truck access allows a customer, contractor, or partner company to view and use the selected truck as part of their fleet in TruckIT. This can help when another company needs visibility into a truck or needs to include that truck in their TruckIT workflow.
The driver will still be able to accept or reject jobs that are dispatched to them.
Before you begin
Make sure you are logged in to the TruckIT Web Portal.
You may need permission to manage fleet access. If you do not see My Company, My Fleet, or Grant Access, contact your company administrator or TruckIT Support.
Before granting access, confirm:
- The truck you want to share
- The company that should receive access
- Whether the company is already available in TruckIT
- Whether your team is comfortable allowing that company to access the truck
- Whether the driver should expect job activity from the other company
Only grant access to companies that should be able to view or use the truck in their TruckIT account.
Grant access to a truck
- Log in to the TruckIT Web Portal.
- Go to My Company.
- Select My Fleet.
- Find the truck you want to grant access to.
- Click the three-dot menu on the right side of the truck row.
- Select Grant Access.
- In the pop-up window, search for or select the company you want to grant access to.
- Click Save.
The selected truck will now be accessible to the company you granted access to as part of their fleet.
What happens after access is granted?
After you grant access, the selected company can access that truck in TruckIT.
This is useful when a customer, contractor, or partner company needs to work with one of your trucks in their own TruckIT workflow.
The driver linked to the truck can still accept or reject jobs that are dispatched to them.
