Edit a Ticket in the TruckIT Portal

Learn how to update ticket details from the Tickets section of the TruckIT Web Portal.

Use this article to edit ticket details in the TruckIT Web Portal.

Editing a ticket helps your team correct or update ticket information before the ticket is used for reporting, reconciliation, billing, or invoicing.

Before you begin

Make sure you are logged in to the TruckIT Web Portal.

You may need permission to view and edit tickets. If you do not see Jobs, Tickets, the ticket’s three-dot menu, or the Edit option, contact your company administrator or TruckIT Support.

Before editing a ticket, confirm:

  • You are editing the correct ticket.
  • The ticket belongs to the correct job.
  • You know which field needs to be updated.
  • You have the correct replacement information.
  • The ticket has not already been used in a billing or reporting workflow that should not be changed without review.

Edit a ticket

1. Log in to the TruckIT Web Portal.

2. Click Jobs.

3. Click Tickets.

4. Find the ticket you need to update.

5. Click the three-dot menu for that ticket.

6. Click Edit.

7. Update the field that needs to be changed.

8. Review the updated ticket details.

9. Click Save.

The ticket will now reflect your saved changes.

Review the ticket before saving

Before clicking Save, double-check the updated information.

Review details such as:

  • Ticket number
  • Quantity
  • Weight
  • Unit of measure
  • Truck
  • Driver
  • Job
  • Project
  • Pickup or drop-off details
  • Ticket status
  • Ticket photo, if applicable

This helps prevent downstream issues with reporting, reconciliation, billing, or customer review.

When to edit a ticket

Edit a ticket when ticket information needs to be corrected or updated.

Common reasons include:

  • The ticket number was entered incorrectly.
  • The quantity or weight needs to be corrected.
  • The wrong truck or driver was selected.
  • A field was left blank.
  • A job or project detail needs to be corrected.
  • A ticket was entered manually and needs cleanup.
  • A back-office review found a mismatch before billing.

Only edit ticket information when you are confident the new information is accurate.

Best practices for ticket edits

Use a consistent review process before making ticket changes.

Recommended best practices:

  • Confirm the ticket against the original ticket photo or source record.
  • Review the job and project before editing.
  • Avoid changing ticket details without a reason.
  • Make corrections before exporting tickets for billing.
  • Keep internal teams aligned if edited ticket data affects invoices, pay advice, customer reporting, or reconciliation.
  • If the ticket photo is wrong or unreadable, reject the TicPic instead of only editing ticket fields.
  • Re-check exported reports if you edit tickets after an export.

Troubleshooting

I do not see the Edit option

Your user role may not have permission to edit tickets. Contact your company administrator or TruckIT Support.

I cannot find the ticket I need to edit

Check the selected job, date range, filters, and ticket status. The ticket may be under a different job or date.

I edited the wrong ticket

Open the ticket again and correct the information if your permissions allow it. If the edit affects billing, reporting, or reconciliation, notify the appropriate internal team.

The ticket will not save

Confirm that all required fields are complete and formatted correctly. Then try saving again. If the issue continues, contact TruckIT Support.

The ticket photo is incorrect or unreadable

Use the TicPic rejection workflow so the driver can submit a new ticket photo.
